Post It Note Holder with Beaded Pen

I finally figured out how to wrap my pens in beautiful card stock and the good double-sided adhesive without having to cut up sheets and have any of the adhesive go to waste. It took a while to get there, but I'm thrilled. I now have several very pretty, but odd looking pens!

Newly listed in my shop is this Post It Note Holder with matching Beaded Pen set. The pen uses the same card stock as I used on the front of the Post It Note Holder. I then covered the pen in glass beads and sealed them. What a pretty way to take notes, don't you think?

Post It Note Holders

I finally am getting these posted. It was difficult, let me tell you. I had a custom order for these so I made extra to put in my shop. I adore custom orders, money in the bank right? But, that also means that I can't work on things that need to be done. Such as Valentines, new ideas, birthday cards and the like. It's a juggling act. I need to find that balance.
On to the post it notes. I made these for my very first repeat customer--woo hoo!! That repeat customer made me think that, hey, maybe I've "made it". So as I'm straddling that awkward phase between getting a lot of shop attention and not really having time to stock it.... I know a lot of you out there know exactly what I mean. In the interim, I'm trying to find that balance of promoting/blogging/crafting/spending time with my kids/husband/down time and other things I want to do. I'm not sure in what direction I want to go.
Up to this point, I've had naps and a couple nights a week to create. Well, we are down to one nap a day and during that nap there is a 4 year old that needs attention. And I don't want to be the wife that says "see ya" every night after the kids go to bed. I need a schedule,I think.

In the meantime, I've finished these and have them in my etsy shop and my artfire shop. They say "the little things" which I think is appropriate for taking little notes. The pink one is from paper my husband gave me for Christmas.

Teacher Gifts

For the first time, I made teacher gifts. My oldest is 4 and we just love his school and his preschool teachers. He is in a wonderful program and is thriving and loves going to school. I pulled the idea from my my shop but used different papers and added the pens.

For the pens, I didn't want any white showing from the background paper so I basically designed it myself by sponging and stamping it. I think it looks much better darker and without any white showing through. Plus I wanted it to match the post-it-note holder. I've seen bic pens used for these but I use the RSVP pens. Its more work, but I think its a better pen. It writes better and being a pen and paper junkie myself, it's something I appreciate.

The sentiment at the bottom says "the little things", which I think is appropriate.

Their other gift was chocolate chocolate chip cookies that my son and his daddy made. I think they may have been a bigger hit. One of his teachers made a comment about getting them home and stashing them before her family saw them. They are the best cookies!
